One of Artan’s last filmed concerts — Partizan live at Control Club

On 15 May 2025 at Control Club, Artan (Adrian Pleșca) took the stage with Partizan and Răzvan Moldovan for the launch of the album “Nori peste Sălăjan”. With Gojira opening the evening, the N-trance Media film preserves in 4K one of Artan’s last filmed concerts — a live document that, after the artist’s death, naturally became a tribute as well.

The concert at Control was filmed in full, during a sold-out evening dedicated to the launch of the album “Nori peste Sălăjan”. Gojira opened the event, followed by Partizan with Artan and Răzvan Moldovan. The 4K image and the sound mastered by Victor Popescu preserve the energy of the room, the audience response and Artan’s unmistakable stage presence.
After Adrian Pleșca died on 2 December 2025, the film acquired a different weight. It is one of Artan’s last filmed concerts, captured less than seven months before his death: not a retrospective assembled afterwards, but the real moment preserved as it happened. That is why today the film also functions naturally as a tribute to Artan.

I heard about the concert from Victor and Artan. They were good friends, and I came that day specifically to film it. Ironically, although I normally like working multicam, here I used a single camera. I was alone and Control was so crowded that, realistically, managing several cameras would have been impossible.
I filmed much of the concert from above, from the balcony, using a Sony NX80. Even from there, raised arms kept entering the frame. People bumped into me, and at certain moments I was protecting the camera with my body. The light level was low, but it was exactly the kind of light you expect in a club like Control.
The sound came from the mixing console. Victor took it the rest of the way.
For the film I used a live recording from the mixing console, and Victor Popescu mastered that recording before I used it. That is the wording I can support with certainty. I do not want to embellish the story with a credit I no longer remember perfectly.
The edit took a few days. The concert needed to remain a concert, not become a documentary built over the course of a year. The goal was to preserve the energy of the room, Artan, the band and the audience without damaging the feeling of being there live.
After the concert, Artan called me.
The moment that stayed with me most clearly from that evening was when Artan thanked everyone and bowed. After the concert he called me, and we started talking about making a film about him. In my mind, I imagined approaching it with the same ambition and closeness I had brought to the project with Ion.
We never got the chance to make it. I do not want to dramatize that any further. For me, it is simply one of my greatest professional regrets.
